The Department Laboratories Rehabilitation Bioengineering Laboratory (LaBiRia)The laboratory combines decades of methodological expertise with advanced instrumentation for the development of methods and measurements used in the evaluation, monitoring, and motor rehabilitation process. It provides access to advanced tools for measuring and analyzing human movement and for creating virtual reality environments. The laboratory operates in partnership with the Defence Veterans Center within an innovative bilateral Italy–USA project. This project involves the University of Sassari and the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies and focuses on the use of robotic technologies to restore motor functions in injured soldiers.Computer Vision Laboratory (CVLab)The laboratory conducts advanced research in artificial intelligence, computer vision, robotics, and biometrics, often using models inspired by biological systems. It is equipped with advanced instruments for the acquisition and processing of images and biometric data. It also includes devices for 3D data acquisition and for the analysis of eye movements. The laboratory is part of a large international scientific partnership that includes collaborations with MIT Brain and Cognitive Lab, Johns Hopkins University, Michigan State University, Chinese Academy of Science, IIT, IDEMIA, and Thales. For more than twenty years the laboratory has also been the core of an international school in biometrics.Materials Science and Nanotechnology Laboratory (LMNT)The laboratory focuses on the study of materials and their properties, with particular attention to nanomaterials and applications in nanotechnology. LMNT is equipped with advanced instruments for materials analysis and acts as an integrated platform that supports both local companies and teaching activities. The laboratory has been active for more than twenty years and is part of an international network of laboratories dedicated to nanoscience and nanotechnology.https://lmnt.uniss.it/ Browse The Laboratories
